Tapers should be a part of every piercers inventory as tapers can be used to stretch out and change jewellery in existing piercings such as lobe, nose, nipple, belly, lip and eyebrow piercings.
So How Do They Work?
Calor Tapers - Calor style tapers are recessed so you can rest the jewellery inside the taper; this helps prevent slippage while chasing the jewellery through.

Pin Tapers - Are used to insert threadless jewellery into a piercing. One side has a “pin” that fits inside the jewellery shaft and helps guide the jewellery through the piercing.

Threaded Tapers - Are used to insert internally threaded jewellery into a piercing. One side of the taper has a threaded end where the jewellery is screwed on and then removed once the jewellery is put through the piercing.
